I think (and this is only my opinion) that a sudden change from very, very happy to horror (and/or visa-versa) would be caused by an "adrenaline rush". If this stuff from the adrenal gland and serotonin are the same thing I don't know. I do know that adrenalin is a very powerful narcotic and is very habit forming. I learned that from experience in the military.
