Hi all. I have been a CH sufferer for 12 years now. I was fortunately diagnosed fairly early after my parents insisted that I was sent to a specialist (they thought I had a brain tumour - so did I!!!). I was originally placed on beta blockers which made me feel unwell (constantly sick), and then changed to Verapamil (360mg a day). This worked in general, still had a few shadows but nothing like it was. On the KIP scale, I suffered between 8-10 for 2-3 months every 4-6 months.

I became pregnant last August and had to stop the verapamil and then unfortunately lost it after 3 months. I do not want to go back on the verapamil as I am still trying to conceive. I have been provided with Oxygen and am taking Magnesium tablets which seem to be keeping them slightly at bay - lower KIP scale of 5-7.

My doctor is unsure of any other suggestions, can anyone help? I don't think anyone actually knows the pain that we suffer unless they have them themselves.

My husband is normally understanding, but they have been known to cause friction. Especially if we are out somewhere and I need to return home as I am about to have an attack!!

Sorry for going on and on, but it is really nice to know that there are people out there who understand what it is like. It is also good to know that if anyone finds anything that helps to ease CH's we are able to inform and help others.

Thanks for everything and being there!
