Trigger pulled...whence the pain?

Thanks to the folks that responded to my wife BJ 's recent posts about "triggers".
Many folks claim a wide range of things to be "triggers" for them.
We are debating about how to decide what a "trigger" is...If a CH does not occur within an hour or two of consuming or exposure to a substance or event....does that mean it is NOT a "trigger"?
It seems to me...when in cycle...I get CH's no matter what I do or don't do. When out of cycle ...I don't get CH no matter what I do or don't do!!!!
So I ask....how long after eating,breathing,exposing yourself to "your trigger" does your CH occur?
