I can hang with it during a CH (I mean really, can it get any worse???)... I can*not* hang with sound during a migraine... it's the latter that drives me to dark, cool, and dead silence - physically I find I have to stay as quiet and still (on all levels) as possible with a mig.. with a CH... it's... totally different... activity on all levels is how I inevitably respond... I wish I could explain it better, but I can't really... I'm trying to think of words to try.

Except for bright lights, light doesn't generally effect me one way or another with a CH.. with a mig.. the most subtle light can send me over the edge with the pain where I'm screaming (incomprehensibly for the most part) for the ER... sound, the same way.. even the sound of my own heartbeat or breathing... but with a CH it's like.. it's happening in a totally different aspect... maybe it has something to do with which side.. the CHs are on the left.. the Migs are on the right... (god forbid I ever have a moment where they both happen at once! but to-date... they don't work like that)...

I'm sorry that music wouldn't help you... :( does "thinking" make it worse too? (like visualization)
