For the past 5 weeks, I have tried to convince my
GP that the headaches I have been having almost every night (around 1-2AM) were not migraines. I have had migranes before, and I have never wanted to physically remove my eye before. Just my right eye tears turns red, my right nostril runs,
and I have worn a path in the carpet walking the floor. But he (my GP) gave me trigger point injections, in the back of my head, Trimox,
and Prozac... Finally, I went to another GP for a second opinion. She sent me to a Neurologist. He started me on Verpamil(sp) Indocin, cafergot, and gave me an imitrex injection kit. On Thursday night around 2 AM I had the worst one yet. I tried the Imitrex inj., and I could not tell any difference. So I tried the cafergot. Finally it was settling down.(My eye was still attached..HAHA) Soon I started feeling really tight in my chest. I felt like I had a cement block on my chest. I had never used the imitrex injection before, or the cafergot. I thought I was having some kind of
reaction. I went to the ER, they did an EKG, and
then basically told me women do not have cluster
headaches, and he thought all I needed was valuim
to calm down. I told him the only stress I am under is trying to find someone to take me seriously. The pain is so intense when it happens, I get to the point I dread going to bed
at night, because I know what is going to happen.
My husband has been very supportive, but he doesn't understand why I can't just lay back down
and go to sleep......Thanks for listening, I am
so tired, so confused, and so desperate for it to
stop! Before it has only lasted about 2 weeks.
Any thoughts? Any good news to share?
