My doc asks about my O2 mask. Turns out it's a "simple mask": it
covers the nose and mouth and you can pull the elastic on either
side to tighten it. He says that with that mask, I am *not*
breathing 100% pure O2. He says I should have received (from the
home health care place) a mask with a plastic bag. The bag is a
reservoir for the O2. The hose from the O2 regulator goes to this
bag, and the top of the bag/reservoir is connected to the mask,
right under the nose. With this "reservoir mask", he says, I
*am* breathing 100% pure O2. Well, it sure works well enough
as far as breathing the O2 goes. I wanted to pass it along in
case that which I've described here may have meaning to any of
you.
