There are big arteries that supply blood to the head and arms. Evidently we can very slightly alter the flow. No doubt it's very slight but what I do is actually look at my left arm (anywhere else will do) and try to feel my arm throb with circulation. I seem to be able to make it warmer very quickly and it's become second nature. This has NOTHING to do with relaxation. It takes some concentration; and when you are being hit, it's very hard, but always worth it once you have some success. It gets easier.

I think we all can kind of "feel" our system now and then. It's almost, but not quite, like flexing muscles. It isn't that. I think we all can "feel" the interior of our legs. It's akin to that but not exactly. This technique is hard to describe. If I didn't have emails that others have good results, I'd stop posting this. I know I'm not unique. All I can say is: Keep trying to make your arm "feel" increased flow. I used to look down my neck to my arms at first. Try to picture this happening.
