If ya'll want Debby and I can go by the Embassy next week and see if we can get a good "convention" rate on the rooms and what they can do for us. We would need a preliminary number people and how many rooms. Just let me know and we'll be happy to check it out. Rick

This is going to be soooooo much fun!!!!!!!!! Barbara, you can count on me as your official navigator in Dallas. I worked in Richardson for 10 years...half of that time was spent on 635 in morning/evening traffic!! I will talk to you very soon. Donna D

Don't know if I will stay the night at the hotel for sure yet. Kinda depends on how much time you guys want to spend together. Barbara D is right..........you really cannot put a time limit on it. Best to meet and stay at the same location. To have something catered may be expensive....but if Rick can check it out.....we can always "pass the hat". In Davenport, Jackie ordered some neat stuff. Fried chicken wings and the little drum sticks, w/sweet sour sauce and honey mustard sauce on the side. Veggie tray and cheese tray and bbq meatballs. It was really good......everyone ate all they wanted and there was lots left over. We can keep it relatively simple.....and still have a great time. I think the important thing is to have that "right" atmosphere. Comfy places to sit and talk. And also an area where smoking and alcohol are not a problem. Tracey and Barb have alot of expertise in knowing what type of area we need. They've been to alot of these meet and greets. See you guys in Feb..........YEEHAW!!! Jean

I talked to Tracey the Trigger (aka Roxy) this morning. She has a suite reserved......so if we have too....we can always retreat to her room. The cops booted us outta the atrium in Davenport. Said we were too noisy..........go figure!! LMAO I may come on Friday.....if I do, I will call one of you. I have Renee's #, and Tracey's. Jean

We checked out the Embassy and all public areas in this hotel are NON smoking........problem? About 2 miles away we found a Renaissance Hotel at I-635 & Midway that has a sunken lobby bar with sofas and ashtrays. The bar is a nice place to meet and there is a Saltgrass Steakhouse within walking distance and a Blue Goose (Mexican) a short drive away. They will give us a room rate of $79.00 (we guessed at 10 rooms). Also, there is a Marriott Courtyard nearby but I don't think they have a bar. Any thoughts or comments??? Rick

So are we staying at the "Embassy or the Renisance? Let me know something. The smoking hotel sounds better for us.... Some of us are chain smokers. Gives us something to do with our hands instead of beating our heads to a pulp..... Hugs BD

Yes the Renaissance Hotel sounds better to me, we are both smokers. Hubby will get grumpy if he can't smoky. LOL Room rate sounds ok for us too. Let us know when you have it all set up so that we can make our reservation.
