I have worked and stayed at the Renaissance while teaching soccer referee clinics. It is a good place. Lounge/bar area is quite spacious. No guest rooms on that floor so we're not likely to bother anyone except the front desk.

There are several trash food places within walking distance as well a Luby's cafeteria. Hotel food is fairly expensive.  That part of Dallas is dry so you would have to make a run to Addison for extra liquor. Closest liquor store is about 15 minutes one-way.

WOW!!!  I'm out a few days with the tummy flu (BAD MESS) and we are up to 6 pages now!

So, we are scratching Embassy and moving to the Renaissance?  Sounds great to me.  I gotta have my marlboro's since i'm not able to consume alcohol at this time.

I won't need a room as I live about 30 - 35 min. north of that hotel.

Oh,,I didn't get hit by the demon AT ALL while visiting  long term at the porcelain god... but WHAM...got to feeling better last night and d**m if that demon didn't show right back up.  I'd have to say that is a very rough way to be pf in the head....hehe

I got my OUCH tshirt and sweatshirt and am ready...
45 days to go!

Am I missing any spouses off the current list (see above post)?

Anybody have a count on how many rooms we'll need?  I count 4 "for sures" and 3 maybes, I am anywhere close to being right?  If we can get a count we'll go by the hotel and firm up the best rate (and any pearks) we can get.

6+ weeks to go !!!   Smiley

2 pm works for us, just let me know.

We'll firm up the room rate with the hotel if we can get a count of how many rooms are needed.

OK...so, I need to book the Renaissance?  I'm not sure what's going to be happening here in Virginia Beach, I might be flying in instead of driving from home.  Either way, I'll probably be there on Friday.  Extra night in Dallas is always good.... Smiley.

I'm still working on DJ...... but, I do think Cat will be there.

I'll be there, however this all happens.

Something to stir the pot, if it's not too late in the planning process.  My wife is just starting an Assistant Hotel Manager job with the Hampton Inn in Austin.  Believe it or not, she gets commissions for group reservations -- anywhere they get booked (i.e. Dallas) and "could" hook us up with rooms, etc for a Dallas meeting.

I'm hesitant to propose this, as she's brand new to the job, and not sure it would go off without a hitch.  But at least we'd get the inside scoop, and cheapest rate possible  (obviously, she'd waive the commission)....

If we save enough money, can we all go to Medievil Times for dinner?  It's VERY expensive ($44.95 per person), but absolutely hilarious to go with a group!!!
