its been about a year since my last HA or even shadow...  i started thinking about how my life has been changing...

i feel more confident.  i feel like a new man.  i got recommended for promotion, and i should get promoted within a month.  i started getting involved in the local community.

i have met some amazing people.  i have been debating global politics with some interesting people from the middle east.

i developed a new method for intensive aquaculture.  its just a hobby, but i managed to gain the interest of a prominent aquarium magazine.  i really need to write that article they asked me for...

my relationship with my wife has gone to a level i never knew it could reach...

life has been pretty darn good!

Aubanbird, I hope things get better for you!  Great news, and I'm really glad to hear it.  It gives the rest of us hope. Smiley

Just found out today, my beautiful wife and greatest supporter doesn't have to see an oncologist, radiologist or go the Breast clinic for 12 months.
Her check up scan, 2 years after completing punishing treatment for advanced breast cancer, came back clear.
We don't know what the future holds but right here right now, no cancer and no clusters.
Life is pretty damn fine !  Smiley Smiley Smiley

My good news is that I received two airline tickets to Alaska.

Next month, I will be 46 on 7/13th and 1 day later, my son will be 14 on 7/14th.  We are born 32 years and 1 day apart! Wink

Beginning on my son's 7th birthday, I have taken him every July somewhere special for "our birthdays" to enjoy tent camping, backpacking, mountain climbing, white water rafting, fishing, wildlife viewing, boating, jet skiing, etc deep in the forest of a scenic national park/mountainous area, etc.  This year is Alaska!

We leave in 1 month to celebrate what will be our 8th annual father/son birthday camping trip.  I love this tradition with my son and hope it continues as long as we are both alive! Wink

Maybe all those with July birthdays should attend, I know I'd love to go someone amazing like that and I'd help make it three birthdays in three days.

For some reason I decided to check into this place and I came across this thread.   I've been feeling kind a guilty because I haven't been on here lately.  You see I have been pain free for SEVEN years now.  After suffering for over 20 yrs (I lost count), going through what a
Chronic phase for 5 years, I have actually been pain free for seven years.  I wish I could tell everyone what I did to get here, but I really don't know.  I'm always thinking "when are they going to start again?"  I still have my O2 tanks, one is full, but luckily I haven't had to use it.
I remember a time when I always thought (after one of those 1 1/2 hour HA's that you thought would never end) how much longer can I do this?  I'm 53 now but have been blessed with a nice long pain free break.

I'm always aware they could return any day, but the good new is those pain free days do exist.  I sincerely hope everyone will find those days soon.
