My husband has been having CH on and off since he was 19 years old (35 now)They have always been seasonal and sometimes he has even gone for 1-2 years without having any until May 98. Now they are chronic. He did have a 1 month break in July but since then they have been an everyday or almost everyday thing. My poor husband has tried everything and the only thing that even comes close to bearing the pain is a naarcotic pain killer called percocet. As soon as he feels one coming on he immediately takes 2 percocets and chews them up with plenty of water.Sometimes he may have to take 1-2 more. But nothing else has helped and some meds. have been alot worse. His doc. of 4 years has been prescribing this med. since May 98 and in Jan.99 would no longer prescribe it to him and referred him to a pain treatment center with no explanation. His appt. is 4 1/2 months away. We've been to other Docs. since then and no one will prescribe this med. I don't understand this. I realize that it is addictive. But it is the only thing that keeps his headaches bearable. Now he has to suffer for no reason at all.
