I have suffered from this since I was about 10 years old. I have had just as many neurologists/doctors tell me it's cluster headaches as I have tell me it was something else or all my imagination. I'm 36 and have learned to deal with the pain; it's the frustration of it continuing over and over again that is hard to deal with and most people just don't understand.
